Christmas Party Bridge and Prizegiving
Monday 16th December (last night of bridge for 2025) We will be providing a BBQ however can you please bring a salad or desert to go with it! 5.30 pm we will open the bar 6.00 pm dinner 7.00pm Fun Bridge 9.00pm Prize Giving

For Handicap events ( Mon, Tues, Wed ) prizes are firstly awarded on Raw scores and then on Handicap Scores No pair can win more than one prize on a given day. Loveblock NZ Wide Pairs Held Friday 15th November.
The Loveblock tournament is held once a year throughout New Zealand to raise money to support the junior players in the country. This year over 900 pairs played the same boards in this event. At Taupo after a pot luck dinner we had 8 tables playing. Finishing first in New Zealand were John and Rona Driscoll. scoring an outstanding score of 74.7%. Sponsor's prize coming your way. A points were gained at the club by John and Rona Driscoll (top N/S) and Derek and Frances Rankin (top E/W). Triton Christmas Tournament Held Sunday November 10th
Thanks to the organisers of this popular tournament. Especially Pamela and her Kitchen helpers, providing a great lunch on the day. Thanks Ella for directing on the day. Seventeen tables of players from around the country together with at least 24 Taupo players. Winning the Spades group were Karen Harris (Hamilton) and Marcus Dudley (Te Puke) and winning the Hearts group were Taupo's Sue Lower and David Young. Playing in the Intermediate/Junior Swiss pairs, Sue Lower and David Young were placed 18th out of 70 pairs. They placed 2nd in the Junior Section with 4 wins and 2 losses. missing out 1st place by 0.25 VP's. Well done. Also doing well, also with 4 wins and 2 losses were the Intermediate pairing of Sheryl Righton and Gillian Robertson, who finished 12th overall.

Midwinter Bridge and Dinner
A great event with at least 50 members participating. Enjoyed by all and thanks to the sponsors Ryman Healthcare. Go to the Gallery for photos from the day. Well done to our Junior Team who represented Taupo in the Waikato / BOP Interclub Teams Final. Playing 16 board matches they came away with 2 wins and 1 loss, to finish runner up.
Congratulations to our Junior Team who represented Taupo in the BOP Interclub Teams and came first overall in the Junior section of the event with 78.64 VPs.
The team of Prue Kyle, Jill Jones, Sue Lower, David Young will now go on to represent Taupo in the Waikato Bays Interclub finals. Well done the Junior Team and thank you to all the participants who represented Taupo on Sunday.
Club Alterations: Play is back at the clubrooms from Tuesday July 23rd.
Thank you members for putting up with the inconvenience of having to play at other venues. The pain has been well worth it. Well done to the Committee and especially Sheryl and David for the many hours you have put into this project. Taupo Pak'nSave Swiss Pairs 2024
Once again this was a very popular tournament. Great and enjoyable comments from the players. Thanks to all involved. Especially Pamela and the members who help in the kitchen. A great meal on Sunday. Thanks Ruth and her Match Committee for their organisation and Sylvia for being the host. Also the dealers who dealt 350 boards. The tournament was well directed by Justine Hart. This was Justine's first major tournament so well done. The winners this year were Michael Neels and Ella Gray (1st in the Spade Group) Runners up were Alan Parkes and Graham Stern (1st in the Heart Group) Top Taupo pair were Rosemary Ritchie and Joan Berg Other photos are in the Gallery

Trifecta Week for Taupo members
Well done Barbara Grainger and Barbara Cook with a top placing in XClub with a score of 72.55% Another top on XClub for Taupo players with Garth Robinson and Rosemary Ritchie achieving an excellent 68.30% in Wednesday nights (24/4), Justin Harris Joinery's April Pairs. Well done Congratulations to Pamela Frank and Lauren Lehndorf for an excellent result in the afternoon session of GM Painters Pairs (Tuesday 23rd), where they achieved a 68.75% result, but more importantly giving them a top in XClub with the result of 70.89%. The Forsyth Barr Taupo Intermediate Tournament.
The first tournament for the Waikato Bay League has been held with a very good field of 17 tables. Thanks to Pamela Burge and the catering team for excellent food throughout the day. Also thanks to Ella Gray for directing and keeping the room on time. (27 boards sessions] Thanks also to Ruth and the Match Committee. It was good to see many Taupo Pairs taking part. Winners on the day were the Taupo pair Kim Chung and Gillian Robertson. A vey good 66.9% in the first session! Top Taupo pair not winning a major prize were Garth Robinson and Sheryl Righton To see all prize winners go to the Gallery
Please Note
Session times have changed for 2024. Night sessions start at 7pm and Tuesday start time is 2pm. The new rating points for 2024 are now on the notice board and two new additions to Intermediate are Sylvia Lee and Sheryl Righton. Congratulations ladies. Competitions Start in February.
