Sunday 14 December: Triton Christmas Tournament – 

Thank you Triton for sponsoring this event

Thanks to Sylvia Lee and the other organisers of this popular tournament. Especially Pamela and her Kitchen helpers, providing a great lunch on the day. Thanks Ella for directing on the day. Nineteen tables of players from around the country together with 32 Taupo players.
Winning the Spades group were Richard Solomon (Te Aroha) and Joy Williams(Matamata) and 
​ the Hearts group were Heather Sharp and Lyudmyla Watts (Matamata).
Winning the Diamonds group were Taupo players, Jill Jones and Colin Light.

Monday 15 December:  Fun bridge and prize giving. This is the final session for the year so come along to enjoy the evening and to support and congratulate the prize winners.
     5pm – Bar opens
     5.30pm – Pot luck dinner
     6.30ish  - Fun bridge
     8.00pm – Prizegiving

 
Saturday 10 January, 8.30-11.30: Working bee to ready the clubrooms and grounds for 2026. Add this date to your diary – it would be great to get a good turnout. Bring your gloves, dusters, clippers etc etc
 
Monday 12 January, 7pm: First bridge session for 2026
 
Saturday 28 February: Bayley’s tournament in Taupo – Put this one in your diary.
November LiquorLand Teams

Well done to the 14 teams playing this months in the final 2 rounds of a six round Swiss teams competition.

Winning both matches this month were The Dealers, The Aces and The Four Aces.

Winning the Swiss Teams were the Tricksters as well as 3rd in the Ongoing Competition.

The Ongoing Competition based on the average of the best 12 rounds (out of 18) was won this year by The Dealers.
Second were the Slam Dunks and fourth Bridge to Nowhere. Less than 0.3 VP separated the top 3 teams.

Months sponsors prize this month went to Ruth Hennebry. Thanks for all the help with the dealing and directing the Junior Championship.

It seems our players have done well at Congress - Not top but not bottom either, so well done for attending and obviously enjoying yourselves.

Juniors do well this week in X Club

On Tuesday Leone Graves and Linda Whitlock were first on Handicap with 67.79%.

​On Friday Jenny Coventry and Pamela James were first on Handicap with 72.46% and finished 4th on Raw Scores (67.31%) against over 400 pairs that played the same boards.


Well done to both pairs.




October LiquorLand Teams

Well done to the 16 teams playing this months in the 3rd and 4th round of a six round Swiss teams competition.
Leading teams at present after 4 rounds are Double Trouble, Tricksters and Bridge Buddies (big jump up the leader board this month).

Taking home the wine were the Just in Time team.
Winning both matches this month were Double Trouble, Bridge Buddies, Just in Time and Bridge to Nowhere.


Dealer of the month sponsors prize this month went to Sharon Barton.

The Annual General Meeting for 2025 was held at the Club Rooms on Tuesday 14th October.
This was attended by a good turn out of members.

Sheryl Righton is standing down as President.  We thank her for her period as President and for the outstanding work she and the committee did in bringing in grants for the large amount of renovations which have taken place, along with the ordinary duties of running the Club.
​
We thank Pam Burge for her work on the committee and with her catering for the Club.  Pam is standing down from the committee but will continue with catering for the club.

We welcome in Ann Robertson as our new President and wish her well in undertaking the position of President.  We welcome Jude Merwood onto the committee. Jude will undertake the position of Treasurer, which she has taken over from Ann.  We also welcome Gay Thorburn as a new committee member.
