Thursday teams are starting on 26 March
We have 15 teams registered for 2026, but we really need one more. It's a good, fun afternoon and everyone is most welcome. It is held on the last Thursday of the month. Teams must be seated by 1.20pm on the day (for a 1.30pm start). The Bar will be open at the end of play and nibbles will be available. There will also be raffle tickets to purchase. If you are interested in being part of a team, or know anyone who could be interested, please contact Gay Thorburn or Denise. Chisholm We do have a Substitute List for teams to pick from if one of their members cannot play on the day. Bayleys Intermediate Tournament in Taupo
We had seventeen tables of committed bridge players at the tournament on Saturday. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank you to Yvonne Westerman and Bayleys Taupo for sponsoring the event. Winners were: First: Bob Strawbridge and Sheila Lister Second: Ross Longney and Deidre Oliver Third: Annette Weaver and Audrey Young Fourth: Graham Saunders and John Little Fifth: Cathy Parker and Deidre Gunn Well done to all the Taupo members who played - there was a great turnout. The top Taupo pair were: Tineke Baldwin and Hazel Milliken Thanks to Ella who directed and scored the event, Sylvia for organising the whole thing, and to all the members who helped set up and pack up the room, worked in the kitchen and/or provided a plate of food.

For most events prizes are firstly awarded on Raw scores and then on Handicap Scores. No pair can win more than one prize on a given day, except where on Friday, trophy days are treated differently to non trophy days. Welcome to Bridge in 2026
General Information: - Any pair can play in these competitions. - You can miss one session and you are allowed a substitute for one of the sessions. (except Championships) - It is important that the Director is told before the start of play if you are playing with a substitute. - Most sessions will be scored on Raw and Handicap - Competition Winners will have a credit showing in their Table Money Account New Zealand Bridge Rating Points
The new rating points for 2026 are now on the notice board. Congratulations to: Rebecca Anderson, Denise Chisholm, Barbara Cook and Jenny Ewart whose grades have changed to Intermediate. In each case these members have accumulated, give or take, about 50 B points (5000 C points) each. Members Information
