The Draw
Place the team names T1 T2 T3 T4 T5 T6 T7 T8 T9 around a circle. This can be referred to as an endlist list.
During the first week each team should try and play a team either side of themselves in this list.
So in the first week T6 should try and play T5 and T7 and T9 should try and play T8 and T1 etc.
During the second week each team should try and play a team two places either side of themselves in this list.
So in the first week T6 should try and play T4 and T8 and T9 should try and play T7 and T2 etc.
and so on for the next few weeks.
The above is just a guide. You can play these matches slower or faster than that.

Welcome to Online Teams
Many of us had never played bridge on line before lockdown. However members have started using BBO and have helped each other to play this way. A big thank you to all of you who have helped in this way.
We are now in a position to play a series of team matches.
With 9 teams this will mean over the next month or so each team can play 8 matches as part of a round robin event.
Each match will be 12 boards.
How does this work?
Each team has a leader. The leader will first of all talk with their team members to get some idea of when they would like to play. Also work out who will be partners. This is not fixed and can change match to match if you wish.
To organise a match the leaders must talk with each other to arrange a time for their match and also decide who will set up the match on BBO. Leaders will have separate instructions for this. They will set up the match about 15 minutes before its start.
Players should log into BBO at least 5 minutes before the start of their match.
Just before the start time the match gets created by who is setting up the match.
Players will then get an invitation on their screens to join this match which they will accept.
Once all players have accepted then they will be taken to their table. The first thing players should do is welcome their opponents by using the message bar. Dont forget to press chat after typing in your messages.
Also before you start playing type a message about your basic system. Like " 5 card majors 1NT 12-14 1C is 3+ " Saves some alerting on each board.
During play the player making a bid should alert it if it is not natural.
When it is your turn to bid click the Alert Button and type a message like "transfer" and then make your bid 2D say.
There is no time pressure. But remember you can not undo a bid. Just be careful what you click on.
And enjoy

Some information on scoring ( only if you really want to!)
Suppose that on board 1, one pair of team A were sat North/South at table 1 and bid and made 4♠ not vulnerable.
This gave them a score of +420.
At table 2 the other pair of the same team were sat East/West for this hand. The North/South of team B bid 3♠ with the same cards and made an over trick.
This gave East/West a score of –170.
This means the net score for team A is +420 – 170 = +250.
Of course the net score for team B is therefore –250.
The above is match point scoring (MP) that is usually used at the club or home.
In teams we convert net scores to International Match Points (IMPs) according to the an international scale.
For example, a net score of +250 is +6 IMPs whereas a net score of –250 is –6 IMPs on this international scale.
We repeat this for each board and add up the total IMPs.
When playing online in the matches you will see the IMPS you are gaining as you play. They are updated after both tables finish playing the board.
Please take a note of the IMPS for each team after playing the 12th board.
Conversion to Victory Points.
If, for example, Team A have a total of 60 IMPS over all of the boards played, and their opponents have a total of 35 IMPs, then Team A win by a difference of 25 IMPs.
All matches have this difference converted to Victory Points (VP)
This results all matches being scored out of 20.
If both teams get the same number of IMPS then the difference is zero and each team gets 10 VP each
A team that wins the match gets somewhere between 10+ and 20 VP
A team that losers gets somewhere between 0 and up to 10
A bit technical but you can check the conversion here https://www.ebu.co.uk/laws-and-ethics/vp-scales
